Red-Tailed Hawk
Red-Tailed Hawk (Part 2 of Eye of the Bird series) By: Nathan Cornwell We had reached an agreement. I certainly cannot say it was an unspoken agreement, for our angry screeches echoed throughout the valley. The intruder sat perched with it’s back to me, at the very edge of my territory. For the past few minutes I had been grappling with my inner self. It wanted the intruder far away! It finally got the better of me. I took of and clipped the intruder’s head as I passed. The startled hawk rose into the air and I chased it across a pond were we perched on the same branch. But my inner self was still not satisfied. I hopped towards the intruder and he took of again. Now I was happy. I screeched my challenge across the valley. The above story was witnessed by the author.
